Title Justification/Explanation

Well, I suppose the first thing I ought to do now that I've created this blog is justify (and explain) its title. Musings doesn't need to be explained. But terministic certainly does. Well, by using the word terministic, I'm alluding to a dead-smart-guy's theory. The dead-smart-guy's name is Kenneth Burke, and the theory theory is about what he calls terministic screens.

I almost quoted him on terministic screens, but I don't think I will. Basically, a terministic screen is just a fancy way of discussing perspective.

The only problem with this title is I want this blog to be my blog, not Burke's. As much as I enjoy reading Burke, and as much as I think he got a few things right, I don't want to be called a Burkean disciple because Burke, like the rest of us, is--or was--mortal. And being mortal, he made mistakes.

Besides. I suppose I'm not qualified to speak as if I were Burke, anyway.

Then again, for those of you that knew me as a grad student, you'd probably think this title is quite typical.
